This book was published in 1961 by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City,in order to highlight some of the finest examples of historic keyboards in their collections. The book features objects from the 1500s through to the early nineteenth century, and a variety of instruments, from organs, harpsichords, hurdy-gurdys,and all sorts of more obscure items! There is also an interesting and informative text by the Curator, that puts all the items into their historic and cultural context. A great book for anyone interested in the history of music, ancient pianos, and so on.
The book is a softcover, and was published by the Metropolitan Museum in 1961. It is 48 pages long, and has a b&w photo of an artefact on pretty much every page. The book is used, but is in very good condition - no writing, no stains or soiling, no missing or torn pages, and a tight spine & clean cover. Top bidder should add $3.99 postage within Canada, or $5.99 for mailing to the USA. I have other, similar books up for sale now, so please check them out too!Multiple books always combined to save on postage, & full refund if you’re not happy. Thanks for looking!
