1 PAIR Antique ALLITH PROUTRY Co #1 Barn Door Rollers, Pat. 1901 & 1903
ORIGINAL Black PAINT, 9" Long X 4" Widest Point
FYI, I have another pair listed & will have 2 Pair of a different maker up soon...please see my other sales. I just sold a matching pair for $215 without the chip in the wheel...I sold a pair for 195 last year & a pair with the same chip for $235! These have a high amount of original paint & the chip should not be an issue for how it works as it worked that way for decades. I am offering them at a very fair LOWER price as I have animals that need medical attention.
Used in the basement of a large department store in Scranton Pa. these retain a lot of the black original paint& have just mild surface rust on the unpainted surfaces from dampness, not weathering. These are otherwise as they came off heavy fire doors & are "as found" outside of a light cleaning with Liquid Gold
0000 steel wool.I cleaned the rollers LIGHTLY with 0000 steel wool & a few drop of oil then blew them out with compressed air& used a just a tooth brush on the layered on grease.
The upper wheel has ball bearings & should be properly cleaned
re-greased for another 100 years of service... easily done with a small soft wire wheel in a drill or Dremel & WD-40 or an alcohol wash & compressed air to clean out the old grease on the bearings. PLEASE NOTE: THE 1 HAS A CHIP IN THE EDGE OF THE TOP WHEEL... It probably will not effect how they work as all were on working door when removed. I sold a pair with 1 chipped like this 1 before I found these last 2 sets
sold that set for the same I'm starting this for. It also has a very little spot of rust in the botton mounting hole area I did not try to clean off as shown. I have close up photos of both...please view them. Some photos to be added after sale begins. I used a tooth brush & Liquid Gold for cleaning the painted area & buffed dry with a cloth towel, NEEDS MORE CLEANING as they were rather grungy from the environment but shows a lot gloss around the lettering... it needs a firmer brush or a Dremel with a fiber brush & maybe a solvent then proper buffing (like with a car)
to get in the crevices & bring out the sheen/gloss of the paint or use as is. I'm unwell & cannot use most cleaning or buffing agents due to long term lung issues.
I photographed these in full sunlight to show whatever paint nicks & overall condition. The string on them is so I can identify what pair is what as I have 2 pairs like this. I also have 2 pairs of a different brand that are up or will be up soon.   I bought these for myself decades back for a barn conversion to house project that did not happen...
I bought the best quality I could get for my needs.
You can hang a couple inch thick door from this & move it easily if done right. Our barn door was about 12' x 7' & 2"+  thick & I opened it myself as a child with good hangers. Great for Lofts, Barns, Garages or anywhere you want a good looking long lasting hanger for your door. Sorry, I DON'T have the track but they can be made or found online.
I'm starting these for what I sold another pair for recently. These have the BLACK string for I.D.
Please Refer to the photos for a better idea of the condition... MORE will be posted in the coming day or so. Photos taken on 2 different days.
I sold a pair JUST LIKE THESE, CHIP & ALL for $235 a month or so ago! Unwell so moving things out for a little less.
